Designed by Swiss practice Valerio Olgiati, luxury fashion label Céline's flagship store hosts its visitors with an interior of blue-tinged marble and pyramidal forms.
The two-story shop is located in the city's design district, and the interior is inspired by the marble’s unique blue-green patina, as the designer wanted to create a "place where an internal universe can be imagined.
The architect Valerio Olgiati’s intention was to insert two pyramid-shaped volumes in the store, which burst through into the shop's ground floor – one forms a pitched stairway, while the other accommodates the peaked top of a chunky concrete column that sits directly underneath.
Thick slabs of blue marble have been used in order to create a smooth background fort he display stands for shoes and handbags, while clothing items are hung on simple railings. A contrast has been created with the items displayed in the store with the harmonious colors of concrete and marble.
