Robotor Reveals Marble Sculptures Like A Real Artist.

Extant works of great artists can now be animated using the automatic chisel "Robotor" available in Italy. Robotor is a sculpting robot powered by self-programming software. This robot meticulously brings to life detailed marble and stone sculptures, ushering in a new era of sculpting.

Robotor's co-founders Filippo Tincolini and Giacomo Massari (director of TorArt, a contemporary art studio that provides facilities for sculpture, design, and architecture) say they started with the idea that working on marble sculptures by hand can be tiring.

The founding partners say: ‘’Our company researched the heart of the quarry area of Carrara, where the precious marble Michelangelo used in its sculptures was produced and developed a technological solution based on the interaction between local space and art.’’

Robotor is being developed with a design idea that can handle even heavy loads in the most demanding environments. The founding partners state that if the person who will use Robotor is experienced in programming, it will not be challenging in terms of use.

How Does Robotor Work?

The Robotor first analyzes the stone or material on which it will work. After examining the properties and shape of the material, it starts production by determining the points around which the material can carve.

Thanks to the software of the robot, it is possible to shape the related product by itself. Thanks to its software, it can choose the types of tools to use at different stages of the process, from shaping the material to polishing and even dusting with water spray.

Robotor also states that technology can help reduce material waste. Because the robot can reuse the materials discarded during production by transforming them into other sculptures.
