Luxury and Sustainability Together
The One Za'abeel project in Dubai aims to create a luxurious and sustainable building that raises the standards for urban projects. Designed by Nikken Sekkei, the complex consists of two towers connected by a futuristic horizontal volume called "The Link." This floating structure houses various amenities such as restaurants, boutiques, and wellness centers. The towers offer hotels, offices, and residences with a focus on providing comfort and experiences for an international clientele.
To achieve excellence in surfaces, FIANDRE Architectural Surfaces partnered with the developers. The Italian company specializ
es in producing porcelain surfaces known for their durability and versatility. In One Za'abeel, Calacatta Statuario porcelain was used for the floors, wall coverings, shower trays, and countertops in different configurations. Inspired by natural marble, this surface offers a timeless and elegant appearance.
Arteco Ceramics, a local distributor, played a crucial role in coordinating the project. They ensured minimal material waste by recovering and reusing materials. The design also incorporated herringbone patterns for added texture, utilizing waste pieces.
In line with the UAE's goal of achieving zero net carbon emissions, One Za'abeel aims to meet LEED Gold certification standards. The choice of sustainable materials, such as Fiandre surfaces, aligns with this vision. The technical ceramic surfaces have received the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver certification, emphasizing their safe and responsible production.
Overall, the One Za'abeel project successfully combines sustainability, innovation, and aesthetics, setting a new standard for urban developments. The high-quality and eco-friendly materials provided by FIANDRE Architectural Surfaces contribute to the magnificence of One Za'abeel while promoting sustainability.
