8 Projects Where Marble Splendor Meets Kitchen

A marble is a metamorphic stone that crystallizes under a certain temperature and pressure. Marbles, which have a wide range of uses such as various surface applications and furniture, can generally be used in bathrooms and kitchens.

Marble can be used to create islands, breakfast bars, or dining tables in large kitchens, while it can be used as an easy-to-clean countertop for preparing meals in smaller kitchens.

1. Apartment 207 - Brazil

Architecture studio Belotto Scopel Tanaka designed a kitchen made of black/white marble and glossy/dark wood cabinets for a 75-square-meter apartment in Brazil.

On one side of the marble ısland breakfast buffet residents can sit and eat, while on the other side of the space, there are several drawers for storing utensils.

2. Deknudt Nelis - Belgium

Blackened steel, dark walnut accessories, and dark green marble slabs were used for the simple office designed by Arjaan de Freyter design office for the law firm Deknudt Nelis.

The veined marble used for the kitchen island was also used for the wall cladding behind the sink.

3. Brunswick Apartment - Australia

The Brunswick Apartment features original mid-century interior features with its L-shaped kitchen, pistachio green tones, and stone flooring.

The designers used Rosa Alicante marble on the top of the countertops and terrazzo floor tiles on the floor.

4. Brooklyn Loft - ABD

New York studio Dean Works has added a multifunctional plywood unit to the kitchen of the Brooklyn apartment design, along with organizing sufficient storage space in line with essential needs.

The recessed gray-white marble countertop and the traditional white washbasin complement each other.

5. Belgian Apartment - Belgium

Local architects Carmine Van Der Linden and Thomas Geldof take care to reflect the calm and rural vibe when designing the two-story beachfront apartment located in Belgium.

Seaweed-colored joinery and striped Alga Marina marble surfaces make the kitchen the focal point of the residence, contrasting with birch-paneled cabinets and shelves.

6. Beaconsfield Rezidansı - Canada

Located in Toronto, this Victorian townhouse renovated by StudioAC complements clean white tones with wood furniture and floors.

The design aims to provide a more intense contrast by choosing light-colored interior materials and choosing a black marble-covered kitchen island.

7. Cottage on the Point- Canada

The kitchen, designed by Studio Paul Bernier Architecte and receiving plenty of sunlight, is located in a lakeside residence in Quebec.

The large glass windows that open to the sky view at night also allow the light that enters to reflect off the marble surfaces.

8. Barwon Heads House - Australia

Australian studio Adam Kane Architects divides the open-plan kitchen and dining area with a large marble dining table.

In other parts of the country house, matching travertine marble slabs can be found as countertops and coffee tables.
